Amazon Alexa*
With the Amazon Alexa in-car app, you can now use your driving time to plan your day-to-day, heat your home in advance or draw up shopping lists. Amazon Alexa is directly integrated into your new Golf’s infotainment system and you can use it with the voice command “Alexa” as usual – while keeping both hands on the wheel. Alexa learns constantly from interacting with you.

To use Alexa, you need an Amazon user account. Volkswagen AG allows customers to access Alexa in vehicles. Alexa’s cloud-based services are provided by Amazon. To use the Alexa in-car app in a Volkswagen, you also require a Volkswagen ID and a We Connect contract whose scope includes the voice control option. Data connection costs shall be borne by you. The Alexa in-car app is exclusively available/usable in vehicles with the following country-specific equipment: United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain and France. Your Volkswagen dealership can tell you whether your vehicle meets this requirement. Currently only the above countries are supported by the Alexa in-car app, as Amazon Alexa is only available for these countries.

Apple Music and Tidal streaming services are now also available to you directly and easily via the infotainment system of your Volkswagen*. Simply log in using your existing access details and enjoy the best of entertainment while driving.
* Additional data is required to use this service. This can be obtained for a fee in your vehicle from our mobile communications partner, Cubic Telecom, or via the customer’s own data connection (smartphone tethering). You must also have your own active subscription to Apple Music / Tidal, and your usual subscription fees to these services apply.
Internet Radio
A surefire hit – enjoy all the benefits of internet radio in your Volkswagen now. The Internet radio* service means that searching for and playing live stations and podcast episodes is as easy as can be. And if you're on the move with analogue radio and leave the transmission area, the hybrid radio function can automatically and seamlessly switch you over to online reception.
