Brake fluid change

A refreshing change.

Complimentary brake fluid change with your new brake discs*.

With a new pair of genuine Volkswagen brake discs, you’ll receive a complimentary brake fluid change*, including all parts and labour. Healthy brake fluid helps to preserve your braking system by protecting seals, pipes and cylinders and aids braking performance – especially in extreme conditions. Now that’s a refreshing change! On top of the benefits of increased stopping power and safety that new brake discs help deliver, healthy brake fluid helps to preserve your braking system by protecting seals, pipes and cylinders and aids braking performance – especially in extreme conditions.

Key reasons to regularly change your brake fluid:

  • Brake fluid is ‘hygroscopic’, which means it actively attracts moisture from the air.

This is considered one of the main reasons to change your brake fluid because many parts of your braking system are made of metal. Fresh brake fluid can help prevent corrosion and failure of those metal components.
  • As brake fluid ages it becomes contaminated with small particles which affects the boiling point of the fluid.
Boiling brake fluid leads to a reduction in your braking performance. Over time this may not be apparent, but every inch counts when it comes to stopping your vehicle in an emergency. In extreme cases, boiling fluid can lead to a complete brake failure with your vehicle not stopping at all.
  • Under heavy braking or acceleration, ABS and traction control systems generate heat, which further breaks down the brake fluid.
ABS and traction control are important safety systems that perform better with fresh fluid. The heat these systems generate can reduce the life of your brake fluid.
  • ABS and traction control components are sensitive to moisture and small particles from contaminated fluid.
Regular brake fluid changes help to preserve your vehicle’s safety systems and help to prevent the need to replace expensive parts such an ABS module.

With so many associated benefits to performance, safety and longevity – not to mention your wallet, replacing your brake discs and enjoying complimentary brake fluid really makes sense. Now that’s a refreshing change.
