Discover the Passat
Whether you already own a Passat or are just interested in the model - find the answers to many questions on this vehicle here. We have compiled technical details, equipment options and much more about the Passat family.
The history of the Passat began in 1973 with its first generation. Right from the word go, the model delighted with the generous amount of space it offered. Over time, it has undergone several adjustments, such as new engine developments, various visual equipment options and amended vehicle body elements.
The Passat B2 takes the strength of its predecessor and builds on it: It is considerably longer and offers even more space. Various equipment options and special editions, such as the Trend, Carat and Arena, provide plenty of room for personalisation.
The Passat experienced a visual change in 1988, most evident in the lack of radiator grille. The new, modern appearance of the Passat B3 was combined with a range of safety equipment features.
In many ways, the fourth Passat is more modern than its predecessor and its design went through a small change. A previous characteristic feature returned: The radiator grille.
The Passat B5 was produced from 1996 to 2000 and was available as a Basis, Comfortline, Trendline and Highline. In its fifth generation, it continued to captivate, predominantly with the generous amount of space it provided.
