Our Polo world for you

For many years now, this small car has been delighting loyal fans and newcomers with its equipment options and unmistakeable design. This page contains information on Polo models, highlights and much more.

Polo 1 (Type 86)

The first Polo was produced in 1981 and was only available as a three-door hatchback. Since its appearance on the market, this Volkswagen has become a cult icon, with seven different generations: Visually more modern, but always loyal to its fundamental form.

Polo 2 (Type 86C and 86C 2F)

A wide variety of equipment lines and special editions made it possible to customise the Polo 2, produced up until 1994. Whether a Mikado, Style or Universal – the compact car won admirers as a trusty companion in the city and further afield.

Polo 3 (Type 6N and 6N2)

In its third generation, the small vehicle was produced as a five-door car for the first time and its equipment packages – and design – were adapted correspondingly. The facelift also gave this Polo new fittings and a modern tail.
