With our Exchange Parts, we provide you with a technically equivalent and cost-effective alternative to our Genuine Parts.
With our Exchange Parts, we provide you with a technically equivalent and cost-effective alternative to our Genuine Parts.
It’s simple: You return a Genuine Part and our Volkswagen Partners will check the extent to which it can be processed. The return process allows us to protect resources together and forego the production of new parts. We also analyse the defects so we can improve future product generations.
Your benefits
By using the Exchange Parts programme, you’ll make an active contribution to resource protection. In engine processing alone, we have already saved enough steel and energy to build the Eiffel Tower some 50 times over.
We disassemble, clean, process and check old engines: And our Volkswagen Genuine Exchange Part® is born.
The exchange process begins with your order, placed with your Volkswagen Retailer. You receive the processed part straight away at the exchange price and your service partner will return the old part that has been removed. This is then either transferred to the recycling facility or to the respective processing facility.
Returned powertrains are completely disassembled and all individual parts cleaned and checked for usability. The old parts are subsequently processed, which is followed by the assembly of once again complete powertrains, such as engines or gearboxes. The same also applies to powertrain sections, such as cylinder heads or injection pumps. In this case, both the processed parts and new parts are used, with the new parts replacing wear parts that are not suitable for processing.
Following a comprehensive final check, the exchange process ends in the same place it began: In the workshop. Our service partners’ workshops all over the world deal with the re-installation of exchange parts. The process can start again from the beginning.
