VW Connect / We Connect are the direct link to your ID. offering you everyday assistance with many digital services which you can access free of charge following one-time activation. Usage of these free services requires you to sign up online to a separate VW Connect or We Connect contract with Volkswagen AG.

VW Connect Plus and We Connect Plus – The whole world of online services

Activating VW Connect Plus / We Connect Plus enhances your ID.’s digital offering with more useful services – from smart navigation to remote functions for remote control via smartphone.

Usage of these services requires you to sign up online to a separate VW Connect Plus or We Connect Plus contract with Volkswagen AG. For VW Connect Plus or We Connect Plus, following vehicle handover, you have 90 days in which to register the vehicle at www.myvolkswagen.netOpens an external link or with the Volkswagen app and use the services for the full duration of the agreed initial free period.

In-Car Apps for your ID.

Use the We Charge charging service in your car or play retro games while your electric car is charging: With your Volkswagen ID and a VW Connect or We Connect activation, you can add lots of apps to the digital offering for your ID. Simply download them from the In-Car Shop in your infotainment system from Software 3.0 onwards. This includes the Vehicle Service app, which you can use to contact your preferred authorised workshop.

The specified consumption and emissions values were obtained using the legally required measurement procedure. On 1 January 2022, the WLTP test cycle fully replaced the NEDC test cycle. Accordingly, no NEDC values are available for new type-approved vehicles after this date. Figures are not based on a single individual vehicle and are not part of the offer, but serve solely to facilitate comparisons between different types of vehicles. Additional equipment and accessories (attachments, tyre format, etc.) could change relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics. As well as weather and traffic conditions and personal driving style, these add-ons could also affect a vehicle’s fuel consumption, power consumption, CO2 emissions and performance. Due to the more realistic testing conditions, the fuel consumption and CO2 emissions values measured according to the WLTP are often higher than those measured under the NEDC. This may result in corresponding changes in vehicle taxation as of 1 September 2018. Plug & Charge can be used at the charging stations technically equipped for this purpose with a valid charging contract from a charging provider. Once the vehicle is connected to the charging station using the charging cable, encrypted and secure communications are initiated in accordance with ISO 15118. The service must be activated in order to use Plug & Charge. The service can be activated or deactivated in the infotainment system or the Volkswagen App. At the same time, location data must be activated in the vehicle’s privacy settings.

Online Voice Control is currently available for the following languages: English (UK and US), German, Danish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Spanish and Czech. The language you can use to interact with Voice Control depends on the language selected in your infotainment system.

The use of VW Connect / VW Connect Plus and We Connect / We Connect Plus mobile online services is enabled by means of an integrated Internet connection. For the use of the “Wi-Fi hotspot”, data plans can be purchased from the external mobile communications partner “Cubic Telecom” by the primary user. The data in these plans can be used by all users and vehicle users in the network coverage area within many European countries. You can find information on prices and supported countries at https://vw.cubictelecom.com. Alternatively, you can use the “Wi-Fi hotspot” with a mobile device (e.g. smartphone), provided it has the ability to function as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. In this case, the corresponding function is only available subject to an existing or separate mobile phone contract between you and your mobile network operator and only within the coverage area of the respective mobile network. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad.

To use the VW Connect and VW Connect Plus or We Connect and We Connect Plus services for the ID. family, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and need to log into VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus with your username and password. A separate VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus contract must also be concluded online with Volkswagen AG. After vehicle handover you have 90 days in which to register the vehicle at myvolkswagen.net or via the Volkswagen” app and app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store) and use the VW Connect Plus / We Connect Plus services for the full duration of the agreed initial free period. If you register at a later date, the duration of the initial period will be reduced accordingly. You can view the exact period during the activation process or following activation on myvolkswagen.net. When the initial VW Connect Plus / We Connect Plus contract period has expired, this may be renewed for a fee.   Some VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus mobile online services can only be used via the Volkswagen” app. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider is required to use the free app. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad.  The mobile online services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes during the contract period. The services included in the VW Connect and VW Connect Plus or We Connect and We Connect Plus packages may vary by country. Availability also depends on vehicle model, equipment and software version installed. This also applies to third-party services.
