Accessibility information
Volkswagen represents the modern mobility of tomorrow. Just like the motor car revolutionised transport, the Internet has fundamentally redefined the way we exchange information. Our aim is to offer everyone unlimited access to these achievements – and to allow them to take part in our information offerings in a self-determined way.
Our Volkswagen websites and applications should therefore be equally available and usable for all. To ensure this, we incorporate the latest findings from development and accessibility. When creating our digital websites and applications, we adhere to the recommendations and specifications of the World Wide Web Consortium ( W3C). Their globally recognised and valid standards serve as guiding principles as we further develop our services. The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) are constantly being adapted to new requirements. They are currently available in Version 2.1 and evaluate compliance status according to three levels: A, AA and AAA. The content of our websites and applications are accessible to the extent that they ideally correspond to the second level (AA).
We offer you the following services:
Volkswagen website
You’ll find comprehensive information on our wide range of models on our Volkswagen website. You have the option to configure your preferred vehicle individually and to search specifically for new and used vehicles available now and purchase them online. You also have further options such as online leasing or online financing of the selected vehicle.
Volkswagen ID – Registration/login
The Volkswagen ID is your key to the digital world of Volkswagen. Once you have registered and stored your data, you can use all Volkswagen digital services with one login.
myVolkswagen
myVolkswagen is your personal profile and vehicle management area on the Volkswagen market websites. There you’ll find a range of functions for viewing and managing your own vehicles, details of the selected vehicle, settings for connectivity services, an overview of digital products, service overviews, and more.
Self Service
The Self Service (CIC website) is your first port of call if you have problems with your mobile online services. You can look for questions and answers on mobile online services in the FAQ section there. You can also get in touch with us there or by telephone or contact form.
Pre-Delivery Enrollment (PDE)
Pre-Delivery Enrollment (PDE) is a Volkswagen AG service and aimed at you if you have ordered one or more (new or used) vehicles from Volkswagen which are Internet-ready and compatible with Volkswagen’s mobile online services (VW Connect, We Connect and Car-Net, depending on the vehicle). To use the mobile online services, you need to create a Volkswagen ID and use it to register for the mobile online services. With your ID, in selected markets, you can also register for myVolkswagen, where you can do things like track the production and delivery status of selected new vehicles. PDE assists you with registration for the Volkswagen ID, myVolkswagen and the mobile online services (VW Connect, We Connect or Car-Net, depending on the vehicle) by ensuring you receive invitations via email that are linked to the online registration forms for these services and are already pre-filled with your personal and vehicle-related details.
PDE also assists you with registration for the optional conclusion of a We Charge charging contract.
Volkswagen app
The Volkswagen app is the digital companion for your Volkswagen. It allows you to use mobile online services, irrespective of which model you drive with which drive type and whether you have a VW Connect, We Connect or Car-Net contract.
With the Volkswagen app, for instance, as the primary user, you can view your Volkswagen vehicle’s current range, pre-set your preferred temperature, find filling stations and charging stations and much more.
Volkswagen ID profile portal
Your personal area of the Volkswagen ID for saving your personal data and managing consent permissions such as the marketing consent declaration or vehicle-related consent permissions such as Over-the-Air Updates or the infotainment system quick start.
Vehicle Activation Service (VAS)
The VAS is a system which is seamlessly integrated into the relevant frontend (Volkswagen app & myVolkswagen) and responsible for linking your Volkswagen ID and a vehicle. The main elements of this process are: Profile completion, ordering connectivity services, login in the relevant vehicle and customer verification using the IDNow AutoIdent procedure.
