Overview of assist systems that offer enhanced safety for the ID.Polo
The following assist systems for enhanced safety are available for the various ID. Polo models:
Automatic Emergency Braking
Proactive occupant protection system
Traffic hazard alert system (V2X technology)
Emergency Assist
If you are unable to steer the vehicle due to an impairment or emergency situation during a journey, Emergency Assist can recognise this situation. The system will first attempt to re-establish its connection to you. If this is not successful, it will take control of the vehicle and bring it to a standstill to prevent potential accidents or reduce their severity. If you are driving on a motorway, Emergency Assist can use an automatic lane change to steer your vehicle onto the hard shoulder and bring it to a halt there.
Front Assist
The Automatic Emergency Braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of potential accidents involving other road users and, if necessary, automatically perform emergency braking for you.
Lane Assist
Above 65 km/h, Lane Assist lane keeping system can detect if your vehicle leaves its lane unintentionally. With corrective steering intervention, it focuses your attention back on the driving situation and keeps your vehicle in its lane.
If you nevertheless cross the lane marking, it will also warn you with a vibration in the steering wheel.
Proactive occupant protection system
The optional proactive occupant protection system can detect precarious situations with the potential to cause an accident and automatically take precautions depending on the situation.
Can detect dangerous situations at the front, rear or sides
Windows and sliding sunroof are closed to a crack to optimise the effect of the airbags.
The front seat belts are tightened in an instant to secure the driver and front passenger in their seats.
The hazard warning lights are activated.
Traffic hazard alert (V2X technology)
The optionally available traffic hazard alert can warn you, for example, of road works or approaching emergency vehicles.
In addition, vehicles equipped with traffic hazard alert can also communicate with each other and thus draw attention to themselves in the event of a breakdown or accident. The communication uses V2X technology via Wi-Fi.
