Assist systems for enhanced safety for the new ID.3 Neo at a glance.
The following assist systems for enhanced safety are available for the various models of the new ID.3 Neo:
“Front Assist” Automatic Emergency Braking
“Lane Assist” lane keeping system
Proactive occupant protection system
Traffic hazard alert (V2X)
Emergency Assist
If, during a journey, you are unable to steer the vehicle due to an impairment or emergency situation, Emergency Assist is capable of detecting this situation. The system will first attempt to reactivate you. If this is not successful, it will bring your vehicle to a standstill to prevent potential accidents or reduce their severity. If you are driving on a motorway, Emergency Assist can use an automatic lane change to steer your vehicle onto the hard shoulder and bring it to a stop there.
Front Assist
“Front Assist” Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian and Cyclist Monitoring can warn you of potential accidents involving pedestrians, cyclists, and other vehicles and, if necessary, actively operate the sensor-controlled emergency brake function. Front Assist can also lend its support in turning and evasive situations and prevent an impending accident.
In addition, Front Cross Traffic Assist supports you when approaching unclear exits or junctions that are difficult to see – by issuing visual and acoustic warning signals or by emergency braking if necessary.
“Lane Assist” lane keeping system
Above 65 km/h, the optional “Lane Assist” lane keeping system can recognise if your vehicle unintentionally leaves its lane. With automatic corrective steering interventions, it focuses your attention back on the driving situation and keeps your vehicle in its lane. If you nevertheless cross the lane marking, it will also warn you with a vibration in the steering wheel.
Proactive occupant protection system
The optional proactive occupant protection system can detect tricky situations with the potential to cause an accident and automatically take precautions depending on the situation.
It can detect hazardous situations in front, behind, and at the side
Windows are closed leaving only a gap to optimise the effect of the airbags.
The front seat belts are tightened in an instant to secure the driver and front passenger in their seats.
The hazard warning lights are activated.
Traffic hazard alert (V2X technology)
The optionally available traffic hazard alert can warn you of road works or approaching emergency vehicles etc. In addition, vehicles equipped with the traffic hazard alert system within a radius of up to one kilometre can also communicate with each other and thus draw attention to themselves in the event of a breakdown or accident. Communication uses V2X technology via Wi-Fi p standard.
