Driving assist systems for the new ID.3 Neo at a glance
The following driving assist systems are available for the various new ID.3 Neo models:
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
“Side Assist” lane change system with Rear Traffic Alert and exit warning system
Connected Travel Assist
Connected Travel Assist actively assists you when driving. It helps you to stay in lane and ensures that you maintain a set maximum speed and distance from the vehicle ahead. Ultra-convenient: the system predictively adapts the vehicle’s speed – for instance around bends, with speed limits or when approaching traffic lights. If it detects a red traffic light, it can even brake the vehicle to a stop. When driving on motorways, Connected Travel Assist can also actively assist when changing lane.
The experiences of hundreds of thousands of Volkswagen drivers are compiled anonymously in the online data. If this online data is available, Connected Travel Assist can keep you in the lane even without lane markings, and thus better adapt the vehicle’s speed to the road layout. This makes assisted driving feel more natural. Connected Travel Assist requires an active internet connection to use this online data, which needs a separate contract, a Volkswagen ID user account, and a VW Connect contract. It is activated via the Infotainment system shop.
Eco Assistance
Eco Assistance can help you to save energy and increase your range. At the same time, the function makes driving more comfortable by automatically adjusting the energy recovery level to the driving situation, taking into account vehicles ahead, speed limits, and the road layout. In many situations, you can therefore control the speed of your ID. just using the accelerator pedal. Eco Assistance can also assist with braking. If a vehicle ahead of you slows down, the function is able to brake your ID. to a stop.
ACC
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) can help you to maintain a previously set maximum speed and minimum distance from the vehicle in front.
Adaptive Cruise Control also enables you to use predictive cruise control and cornering assistance: your vehicle can react automatically to the road ahead and adjust the speed to the road traffic rules. For a more relaxed drive.
Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert and exit warning system
Optional “Side Assist” lane change system helps you to identify potentially dangerous situations when changing lane – a warning light in the exterior mirror shows you that a vehicle is in your blind spot or is approaching quickly from behind. When indicating, “Side Assist” lane change system automatically analyses the position and speed of other vehicles – and warns you.
Rear Traffic Alert increases your safety when reversing: it can warn you of vehicles crossing your path. If you don’t react in time, the system can intervene automatically and reduce or even avoid a collision with emergency braking. The exit warning system helps you to avoid dangerous situations when exiting your vehicle: it can detect if a cyclist, car, or other road user is approaching from behind and warn you before you get out.
