In-Car Apps for your ID.

Use the We Charge charging service in your car or play retro games while your electric car is charging: With your Volkswagen ID and a VW Connect or We Connect activation, you can add lots of apps to the digital offering for your ID. Simply download them from the In-Car Shop in your infotainment system from Software 3.0 onwards. This includes the Vehicle Service app, which you can use to contact your preferred authorised workshop.

When you buy a new vehicle, you have the opportunity to use digital services from VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus for the free initial contract period. To use the VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus services for the ID. family, you must have a Volkswagen ID user account and need to log in with your username and password. Once the Volkswagen ID user account has been successfully set up and linked to your vehicle, you can use the vehicle-, country-, software- and equipment-specific digital services for an initial contract period free of charge. For this purpose, a separate VW Connect / VW Connect Plus or We Connect / We Connect Plus contract must be concluded with Volkswagen AG online at www.myvolkswagen.net or via the Volkswagen” app (available in the App Store and Google Play Store). The actual length of the free contract period depends on when you activate the digital services. From the ninetieth day after initial delivery at the latest, the free initial contract period will begin to reduce automatically. You can view the exact contract period for your specific vehicle on myVolkswagen www.myvolkswagen.net. Some We Connect / We Connect Plus or VW Connect / VW Connect Plus mobile online services can only be used via the Volkswagen” app. A smartphone with a suitable iOS or Android operating system and SIM card with data option with an existing mobile data contract or one to be agreed separately between you and your mobile data provider is required to use the free app. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad.   The mobile online services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes during the contract period. The services included in the We Connect and We Connect Plus or VW Connect and VW Connect Plus packages may vary by country. Availability also depends on vehicle model, equipment and software version installed. This also applies to third-party services. More information is available at connect.volkswagen.com and your Volkswagen dealership. Please also take note of the current Terms and Conditions for the digital services of the ID. family.

Plug & Charge can be used at the charging stations technically equipped for this purpose with a valid charging contract from a charging provider. Once the vehicle is connected to the charging station using the charging cable, encrypted and secure communications are initiated in accordance with ISO 15118. The service must be activated in order to use Plug & Charge. The service can be activated or deactivated in the infotainment system or the Volkswagen App. At the same time, location data must be activated in the vehicle’s privacy settings.

Online Voice Control is currently available for the following languages: English (UK and US), German, Danish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Spanish and Czech. The language you can use to interact with Voice Control depends on the language selected in your infotainment system.

The use of VW Connect / VW Connect Plus and We Connect / We Connect Plus mobile online services is enabled by means of an integrated Internet connection. For the use of the “Wi-Fi hotspot”, data plans can be purchased from the external mobile communications partner “Cubic Telecom” by the primary user. The data in these plans can be used by all users and vehicle users in the network coverage area within many European countries. You can find information on prices and supported countries at https://vw.cubictelecom.com. Alternatively, you can use the “Wi-Fi hotspot” with a mobile device (e.g. smartphone), provided it has the ability to function as a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot. In this case, the corresponding function is only available subject to an existing or separate mobile phone contract between you and your mobile network operator and only within the coverage area of the respective mobile network. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet, depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad.

The online voice assistant is currently available for the following languages: English (UK and US), German, Danish, French, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Swedish, Spanish and Czech. The language you can use to interact with the voice assistant depends on the language selected in your infotainment system. This is also responsible for the voice assistant functions, which may vary depending on the set language. If you consent to the processing of your location data for the online voice assistant, or add location information to your voice request, you will also receive location-specific search results. You may give consent while connecting your vehicle with your Volkswagen ID user account, or subsequently in your Volkswagen ID user account or via the following link https://www.myvolkswagen.net/start/en/onlinespeechconsent.html, which is also displayed in your vehicle infotainment system in the form of a QR code.

The driver assist function “Mass location data for Travel Assist” can only be used within the system’s limitations and up to the maximum vehicle speed. The person driving bears sole responsibility for driving the vehicle cautiously and must always be prepared to override the assist system. If the person driving intervenes, they always reclaim full control of the vehicle. The assist function can be activated and deactivated at any time using the button on the multifunction steering wheel.

To activate the “Mass location data for Travel Assist” service, you need a Volkswagen ID user account and a valid contract period for VW Connect / We Connect (for more details: https://www.volkswagen.ie/en/connectivity/we-connect/activation.html). In addition, a separate agreement is required for the mass location data (online data), i.e. the element known as the online component. You have the option to renew the contract period for a fee once the initial usage period has expired. The online component of Travel Assist is available in the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Croatia, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Sweden, Switzerland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. The online component of “Mass location data for Travel Assist” can only be used within mobile network coverage and with the appropriate privacy settings and can be deactivated at any time in the app and on myVolkswagen. The online functions, i.e. the mass location data (online data), are enabled by an Internet connection integrated into the vehicle. Volkswagen AG will be liable for the associated data costs incurred within Europe under network coverage. Additional fees (for example, roaming charges) may arise when exchanging data on the Internet – depending on your particular mobile phone rate and especially when using the service abroad. The services are available for the agreed contract period and may be subject to substantive changes or ceased during the contract period.
