Data collection for the development of automated driving
The research, development and safeguarding of automated driving functions require a significant data base from the widest possible variety of traffic scenarios based on real journeys. If your vehicle supports the function, the data upload can be directly activated or deactivated using the “Automated driving development” slider in the privacy settings.

In particular, this includes searching for and finding public charging points and a route planning tool for selected vehicles that takes public charging points along the route into account.
Terms of Use for the We Charge Feature Website App as Offered by Volkswagen AG on Third-Party Websites
1. Provider, subject matter
These Terms of Use apply to the use of the We Charge Feature Website App only. We Charge Feature Website App is offered by Volkswagen AG, Berliner Ring 2, 38440 Wolfsburg, Germany, registered in the Commercial Register of Braunschweig District Court, Germany, under HRB 100484, Sales Tax Identification Number DE 115235681, e-mail address: support-wecharge@volkswagen.de. For other offers, services, content or features offered by Volkswagen AG or by a third-party, separate terms of use might apply.
The We Charge Feature Website App is offered by Volkswagen AG via a platform (hereinafter referred to as "Platform") operated by a third party that is a distribution partner of Volkswagen AG (i.e. the national importer of Volkswagen vehicles).
The Platform as well as other contents, functions, services, including third party websites that can be accessed via external links, delimitable areas of websites (e.g. sub-pages) and any other offers that are not marked as offered by Volkswagen AG (hereinafter referred to as "Third-Party Offers") are outside of Volkswagen AG’s control and responsibility. These are controlled by and are the responsibility of the company named in the respective imprint as the responsible person.
2. Scope of Services
With the We Charge Feature Website App, you can use free of charge web-based functions and services related to charging of electric vehicles. In particular, this includes searching for and finding public charging points and a route planning tool for selected vehicles that takes public charging points along the route into account.
The result of the route calculation represents a forecast value and may deviate from the individual real scenario, as the real range also depends on various influencing factors such as the individual driving style, the battery and outside temperature or the climate settings in the vehicle.
The consumption along the route is calculated using speed classes based on the WLTP phases (City, High and Extra High) in order to forecast a practical consumption. If you do not select different outdoor temperature scenarios in the application, a constant outdoor temperature of 23°C is assumed for the route calculation.
If you select different outdoor temperature scenarios in the application, additional energy consumption is assumed, for example for heating or cooling the vehicle interior.
To estimate the charging time, an optimum battery temperature of 20°C is always assumed during the charging processes, regardless of the outside temperature. If the battery temperature differs from the assumed battery temperature, the actual charging time may differ from the calculated charging time. The responsibility for the proper functioning, the operating status, and for barrier-free access to the charging points displayed via the We Charge Feature Website App lies outside the knowledge and control of Volkswagen AG. This responsibility lies exclusively with the operator of the charging infrastructure. The charging process itself is also beyond the knowledge and control of Volkswagen AG and is subject to the relevant agreements between the charging infrastructure operator and its customers.
Volkswagen AG endeavours to ensure that the We Charge Feature Website App operates smoothly and that the content is up-to-date and correct. However, the completeness, correctness, topicality and constant availability and flawless functioning of We Charge Feature Website App cannot be guaranteed, particularly since the services are being provided free of charge.
3. Property Rights
When using We Charge Feature Website App, copyright, name and trademark rights as well as other property rights of Volkswagen AG and third parties must be observed. The images, recordings, music and trademarks presented by Volkswagen AG are protected. No license or other right of use is granted by the availability of the We Charge Feature Website App.
4. Improper Use of We Charge FeatureWebsite App
When using the We Charge Feature Website App, you must comply with the general legal regulations, in particular the applicable road traffic laws, and take into account the traffic signs. Any misuse of We Charge Feature Website App is to be avoided, in particular no security precautions may be circumvented. Furthermore, no facilities may be used or applications executed that could lead to damage or functional failure of Volkswagen AG's facilities, in particular through changes to the physical or logical structure of the servers or the network of Volkswagen AG or other networks. Any commercial, systematic use of We Charge Feature Website App is not permitted without the consent of Volkswagen AG.
5. No Liability for Advice or Recommendation
If advice or a recommendation is given within the We Charge Feature Website App, Volkswagen AG is not obliged to compensate for damages resulting from compliance with the advice or recommendation, notwithstanding the responsibility resulting from a tortious act or any other legal provision.
6. Out Of-Court Settlement of Disputes
This Section 5 only applies to consumers having their domicile or place of ordinary residence in a member state of the European Union and does not affect the statutory regulations regarding consumer dispute resolution that may exist in countries outside the European Union.
The European Commission provides a platform for out-of-court online dispute resolution, which can be accessed at www.ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. On this platform, consumers will find a list of consumer dispute resolution bodies that can assist in the out-of-court settlement of disputes.
Volkswagen AG is neither willing nor obliged to participate in a dispute resolution procedure before a consumer arbitration board.
